[ Back To Guides ]
This easy to understand guide informs you how we help you deal with email viruses and spam. You might also consider reading How Your Email Account Works before proceeding.

Before Email Arrives At Your Computer

1. Virus Check

Our server scans all email attachments.

You receive an email alerting you that the attachment has been
deleted or repaired depending on the status of the infection.SpamAssassin(tm)

2. Spam Filter

You mail is filtered for spam using DNSBL lists.

The server checks against a Spam Database.
Detected spam has the PREFIX: *****SPAM*** added to the Email Subject.
You have the option of deleting or removing (see below).

3. Nothing Should Get Deleted

Our server does NOT delete any tagged spam.

Some email may get tagged that is not spam (see below).
     You receive ALL emails regardless.
This avoids having possible 'friendly' email tagged as spam.

After Email Arrives At Your Computer

1. Set Up Junk Email Rules
This can divert tagged SPAM into a junk email folder or trash can.

2. Email Rules May Vary
To setup Rules you will need to:

  • Locate your Junk Email or Email Filters.

  • Create a New Rule.

  • Setup the Rule to look for *****SPAM***** in the SUBJECT.

  • Tell the Rule to move these messages to a folder other than the Inbox.

  • Consider NOT moving them to the TRASH.

  • Scan this Spam Folder occasionally in case Non Spam was moved there.

Known Issues

1. Non Spam Email Gets Tagged As Spam
If our spam filters continuously block someone who is NOT SPAM,
you need to alert us. We can fix this using White List technology.

2. You Might Be Blacklisted
You can check, as we often do, to see if you are on a blacklist of
any kind. Read our guide on BLACKLIST CHECK and find out!
